5 Day Tour

5 Day Tours organised by GS Africa

Cape Town to Oudtshoorn via the R62 and returning to Cape Town on the N2 with an exploration of the Wine Route.

On the first the group rides around the famous Cape Point Peninsula. The next day, our destination is the interesting town of Oudsthoorn along the N1 highway. On the third day, we travel over the Robinson Pass and then divert back to the coast towards Cape Agulhas.

On day 4 our overnight destination is Franschoek via Gordons Bay and on the final day we visit various wine farms in Stellenbosch – finally ending back at your hotel in Cape Town.

14 Day Tour

Cape Town – Transkei via the Garden Route returning inland via the Great Karoo, Graaff-Reinet and Oudtshoorn to Cape Town.

Over several days of riding, our first destination is the town of Mossel Bay. On our way here we will detour past Cape Agulhas heading towards the Outeniqua Pass which takes us to George and onto Knysna. After leaving Knysna we drive through the little holiday mecca of Plettenberg Bay and onto the Kuzuko Game Lodge where we view the Big 5 and stay overnight.

We then head towards the Transkei via Jeffery’s Bay, where we stay at the Umngazi River Bungalows eventually heading towars the Mountain Shadows Hotel via the Barkley Pass.

Finally, we return via the Great Karoo and the Cango Caves and then back to Cape Town.

Namibia

This country prides itself on being peaceful, forgiving, making good food, surrounding yourself with plenty of relaxed people and giving you access to more open space and wild animals than anywhere in the world.

Languages: 9 Official , mainly English, Afrikaans and German
Currency: Namibian Dollar / South African Rand / US Dollar
Which side of the road: Left Road Condition: Excellent (Long LOOOONG straights!)
You’ll get locked up for: Getting out your car in a National Park!

Top Attractions: Fish River Canyon, red sand dunes of Sossusvlei, just every wild animal in Africa roaming Etosha National Park, the Kalahari Desert & the Skeleton Coast, deserted mining towns and of-course plenty of hot tourists.

Malawi

Malawi is one of the smallest, least developed countries in the whole wide world, with a pretty large population.This country will surprise you beyond measure. Some of the poorest people you will ever meet, yet quite possibly the friendliest and kindest people on the planet, with a reputation that far precedes their talents, whether it be crafting wood, metal, fabrics or even making tasty food!

Languages: 2 Official, mainly English, Chichewa
Currency: Malawi Kwacha / U.S Dollar / SA Rand
Which side of the road: Left Road Condition: Good
I’ll get locked up for: speeding and not having 3rd party insurance.

Top Attractions: Lake Malawi, Peri-Peri, Home-baked bread, beaches and the people!

Zambia

The mighty Zambezi is the lifeblood of the country with millions of people coming to Livingstone each year to, not see, BUT experience the Victoria Falls! (and the famous ‘Mosi’ beer!)

Population: 12 million
Languages: 11 Official, mainly English, Bemba, Nyanja
Currency: Zambian Kwacha (now with 3 less zeros)
Which side of the road: Left Road Condition: Excellent, a but narrow after Lusaka.
I’ll get locked up for: possessing naughty plants (*especially if you drive a red city golf.)

Top Attractions: The maginificent Zambezi River, Victoria Falls! Crocodiles, hippos, elephants, man-eating fish! White River Rafting, Bungee Jumping and activities to satisfy your adrenaline cravings!

Mozambique

Another country on the up! With beautiful coastline, golden beaches, freshly baked bread and seafood pulled from the sea daily, this land can only be described as paradise! Oh, it has great weather too!

Population: 15 million
Languages: 1 Official: Portugese, some English here and there..
Currency: Mozam Metical / U.S Dollar / SA Rand
Which side of the road: Left
Road Condition: Not so good! Potholes and huge speedbumps from Malawi to Vilanculos.
I’ll get locked up for: Speeding, incorrect vehicle papers, cheekiness.
