To rent a motorcycle, you’ll need a valid motorcycle license, a passport or South African ID, and a credit card for the security deposit. For international travelers, an International Driver’s Permit (IDP) is recommended.

We currently have the adventure-ready Yamaha Tenere XT 700 Z available, ideal for off-road travel and rugged terrain.

Yamaha models come equipped with ex-factory road-biased tyres. However, if your route requires more aggressive, specialized tyres—especially for trips to neighbouring countries—we can fit off-road-biased tyres for an additional daily cost.

Comprehensive insurance is included in the rental price; however, an insurance excess deposit is applicable. In the event of write-off, theft, loss, or damage, the maximum amount the rider is liable for is the insurance excess deposit. Any costs beyond this will be covered by the insurance company.

Our Yamaha Tenere 700s are ideally suited for off-road travel. They offer better low-end torque, smoother acceleration, and improved manoeuvrability, making them a great choice for rugged terrain.

Yes, GS Africa permits cross-border travel to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi and Eswatini with prior approval and border exit documentation.

Yes, GS Africa offers a complete gear setup for rent, including helmets, jackets, gloves, boots, pants, and helmet intercoms. Please note that an additional dry cleaning fee applies to ensure all gear is fresh and clean for each use.

Yes, the motorcycle is equipped with a charging port, and a phone mount and/or GPS system can be added for an additional cost.

If you plan to book during our high season (August to April), we recommend reserving at least two months in advance to secure your preferred model.
