Upon arrival, a friendly GS Africa shuttle, proudly displaying your tour group’s name, will be waiting to whisk you from the aiport to your nearby hotel. Perfectly located just a block from the vibrant V&A Waterfront, with its array of dining, shopping, and entertainment options, your hotel promises a lively start to your journey.

If you’ve forgotten any gear, don’t worry. Simply inform your Tour Guide, who will liaise with GS Africa to arrange rider gear, accessories, or additional motorcycle apparel as needed. Once you’re settled in, your Tour Guide will meet you at the hotel to begin your adventure with a ride up the iconic Table Mountain cable car, followed by a visit to the colourful Bo-Kaap for photo opportunities. DAY 1 – Cape Town

Arrival in Cape Town & Table Mountain Excursion

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, our dedicated shuttle service will collect you and transfer you to your luxurious 4-star hotel at the world-renowned V&A Waterfront, a vibrant hub filled with restaurants, cafés, boutique shops, and memorable experiences.

DAY 2 – Hermanus

Once you have enjoyed your breakfast, our tour vehicle will be ready to load your luggage (we recommend soft bags for ease of transport), you’ll head to GS Africa Headquarters where you’ll be introduced to your steel companions for the next 20 days. You’ll say goodbye to Cape Town’s bustling city streets and embrace one of its most iconic coastal routes: the panoramic Chapman’s Peak Drive.

Winding through the scenic route via Hout Bay and continuing to the Cape Point Nature Reserve – a historic waypoint for ships traveling between Europe and Asia. From there you’ll visit Boulders Beach to meet the beloved little black-and-white African penguins, often seen sunbathing at their coastal home. The route then takes you along another breathtaking coastal stretch, leading to Hermanus for your overnight stay overlooking the historic Old Harbour, where the natural beauty of the harbour and sea combine – a wonderful conclusion to your first day.

DAY 3 – Arniston

After enjoying lunch nearby, we continue to Arniston, a tranquil coastal village celebrated for its unspoiled beaches and sweeping ocean views. DAY 6 – Addo

Today’s ride follows the coastline past the vibrant surf town of Jeffreys Bay, famous for its world-class waves and laid-back atmosphere, before continuing to Gqeberha, one of South Africa’s major historical coastal cities. Along the way there will be time to stop for lunch and refreshments whilst enjoying the ever-changing scenery of the Eastern Cape.

By afternoon, the group arrives at historic private game reserve, where rolling plains, indigenous vegetation, and abundant wildlife create an authentic African safari setting. After settling into your comfortable safari-style tented accommodation, take some time to relax and appreciate the tranquillity of the bush.
As dusk settles over the reserve, the sounds of the wilderness begin to emerge creating an authentic safari experience. Known affectionately as “Notties,” it blends rich Victorian heritage with warm country hospitality and a lively social atmosphere. Established in 1854 as a staging post between Pietermaritzburg and Ladysmith, is also home to the oldest pub in KwaZulu‑Natal.

DAY 12 – Clarens

After enjoying Nottingham Road, the drive to Clarens is a journey that bridges the lush green hills of the KwaZulu‑Natal Midlands with the dramatic, sweeping sandstone peaks of the Free State. Nestled at the foothills of the Maluti Mountains(Lesotho), the little town of Clarens is renowned for its towering, multi‑layered golden sandstone cliffs, known as the Clarens Formation.

The local architecture reflects this heritage, with many homes, galleries, and shops built from the stone, giving the village a warm, rustic character.

Covering roughly 268 km, the drive takes about 3.5 hours, with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos along the way. Once you arrive in Clarens, you’ll find it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal or drinks overlooking the mountains. Though small, the village boasts a thriving culinary scene that adds to its charm.

DAY 13 – Clarens

For those eager to continue exploring, there’s the option to cross into Lesotho via Fouriesburg, the gateway to the mountain kingdom, and ride up to Afriski — a unique alpine resort where you can pause for lunch surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer a more relaxed day, Clarens offers a vibrant cultural experience. The bustling village market is filled with handmade crafts, local art, and fresh produce, making it a place to wander. The Clarens Museum provides insight into the town’s rich history, while numerous art galleries showcase works from both local and national artists, reflecting the village’s reputation as the “art mecca” of the Free State.

Today we head from Mbabane in eSwatini toward the legendary Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. The journey offers a striking transition from the mountainous landscapes of eSwatini back into South Africa’s Lowveld region, where the terrain flattens into savannah dotted with acacia trees and continous bushveld. Along the way, you’ll pass rural villages and farmlands, giving you a glimpse of everyday life in this corner of Southern Africa.

Your destination lies just outside the Kruger National Park, where your next safari adventure begins. In the late afternoon, you’ll board an open game vehicle for a sunset drive. This is the perfect introduction to Kruger, as the fading light brings predators to life and herds of antelope, elephants, and giraffes move across the plains. With luck, you may even spot lions beginning their nightly patrols or hippos emerging from rivers.

Kruger is home to the Big Five, along with hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, antelope, and hundreds of bird species.

DAY 18 – Dullstroom

The longest stretch is approximately 364 km on Day 4 to Knysna, while the shortest ride is 110 km on Day 5 to Tsitsikamma, allowing ample time for sightseeing and relaxation.

South Africa enjoys predominantly warm, sunny weather throughout the year, with winter lasting roughly three to four months. Even during the cooler season, sunshine is common, making the country a year‑round travel destination. The ideal periods for travelling this route are generally May and October, when conditions across both the Cape and safari regions are most balanced, offering fewer extremes and highly comfortable travel conditions. The Western Cape experiences a Mediterranean climate, with its rainy season beginning in June, whilst the Kruger and northeastern regions remain dry during this period — excellent for animal viewing and highlighting the country’s diverse climate zones. During this itinerary, you can expect mostly clear, sunny days with daytime temperatures averaging around 20–28°C, and evenings cool to approximately 12–18°C.
